According to Variety, Bret will be starring in The Hobbit as an Elf named Lindir. I've never read the Hobbit, so I'm unsure if he's a main character or not. Lets hope so. Here's the article by the way:
"Flight of the Conchords" star Bret McKenzie has joined the cast of "The Hobbit," which began shooting March 21. McKenzie, who made brief appearances as an extra in the first and third "Lord of the Rings" pics, is playing Lindir, an Elf of Rivendell.

Figwit Lives! But if he has a speaking part, and it makes the cut, I dont think I'll be able to handle it! I'll burst out laughing in the theater, cherring for Uke solo!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for Bret!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I read in other sources, Lindir is "a very, very minor player in the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, a minstrel or musician of sorts who encounters Bilbo Baggins in 'The Fellowship of the Ring' who sings to him his song of Eärendil."
I guess we can expect a song from our Conchord! :D
Yeah it's pretty cool nonetheless. I hope The Hobbit is as good as The Lord of The Rings. Here's hoping. :)
